Time Flies and Crafting Waits...

Where on earth has the time gone, it really doesn't seem five months since I made a post on here. I seem to have so many things to do and so little time to do it.  I think I might have to manage my time a bit better. LOL.  I've got a couple of fairs coming up where I can sell my craft ware which of course means I need to make some new stock.

I've been running a fortnightly workshop at the school for parents to learn to make cards, it seems to take me nearly two days to make an example and put together packs for them to buy to make more cards.  Commissions for cards for younger children are doing well.  I do need to take the box back in to school to see if I can sell some cards to staff.

I'm wanting to try and get stuff on ebay too, I've got mountains of clothes and childrens toys, and once the car boot season gets under way I'll be going there each month too.

I really want to try and use some of my stock of papers etc.  My crafting style has changed so much over the years and I find that things I've had for a couple of years are not getting used because its not my style anymore.  Might be worth making up some lots of stuff for ebay.  I'm more in to stamping and digi images now.  Its rare for me to use other sorts of embellishments now and I do struggle to think of ideas for them.

So lets see if I can get some time and get cracking eh?

Christening Card

I was asked to make a christening card for a boy which can sometimes stump me, so here it is.  I embossed the backing on the left and used chalks to highlight 'Gods Little Miracle'.  Coloured a Digi image with promarkers and threaded ribbon through the holes of the shape.

Let's Celebrate Halloween

In the pagan calendar Halloween is the New Year....so Happy New Year.

I made this card using Digi Images from Nizzy of the Witch and Pumpkin, the Halloween Circle is from Grafico and the Spider Web background printed on the orange is from Tiddly Inks.  The Image has been coloured in using various promarkers, mainly oranges and purples LOL!!

Purple is one of my favourite colours but of course halloween is traditionally associated by the colour orange so I decided to incorporate both on the little witch by colouring her in stripes. The backround oval and ornamental shape have both been embossed with dots.

The purple panel is embossed with Stylized flower and decorated with gold half pearls, ribbon and a pearl pin I made myself.

The flowers are made using three different punches and layered with a gold half pearl in the centre of each.

I'm entering this card into a number of challenges, one of which is 'transport'. There are no wheels in this picture for transport because what would a witch need these for, when her transport is her 'Broomstick'

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Just Cute Bears Challenge

Just Cute Bears Challenge, Pink and Brown 29/8  I've found the most gorgeous, cute blog thats all about bears...YAY.  I love teddies and when I saw the colour theme for this challenge I just had to give it a go.  I very rarely mix colours and so this one was something of a different nature for me.  But I am very happy with the result.....I hope you are too.

Mum and Daughter Time

This afternoon Lily and I did some colouring of images, using a gorgeous image from Beccys Place we both did very different bears.  Lily is only 8 and despite being a very very clever little girl her colouring in has never been a strong point.  After having a little discussion about shading etc., and how to use promarkers properly she came up with this little cutie....which I think is fantastic.

And this is what I did with my little bear.  Sorry about it looking a bit lop-sided I had the camera slightly twisted.

Christmas Challenges

Having had a great start to my challenge entering I've decided to have another go...this time using a fantabulous little image from Sew Many Cards, thank you Jeri.

The Challenge this week is Sew Many Challenges #23  'Christmas in August'.

I've also had a go at sewing on card using the little provo craft sewing machine my hubby bought me a few years back.  Its another of those items we buy and put to one side promising to use it, but then we never do.  After seeing the gorgeous creations on Sew Many Cards I decided to dust off the box, get out the machine and blooming well have a go!!!!  AND...it worked.  I actually expected the battery to be dead but it wasn't.  It took a few attempts but then it came together.  Thanks SMC for the inspiration.

Hope you like...

I'm also going to enter this in The Creative Cottage Challenge #21 - Christmas

Home Workshop

Today I've got some of the lovely ladies from my School Card Workshop coming round to do a session.  Have decided to do a Christmas Shaker Card with them and the children are all doing easier Christmas Cards.  Should be fun.

Was a great afternoon and my thanks to Jayne and Marrianne for coming.  We made the shaker card with lots of time to chat and have a cuppa and cake!!!!  The children had good time too and made a card of their own.  Well done to the three of them.

This is the card that the children did.  The one on the left is the card I did for them to copy from, and the card on the right is the one my 8 yr old daughter did as part of the childrens 'class'  Horse Image from Cuddly Buddly

This is the card that the adults did.  Though I didn't get a picture of their cards these are the sample and example cards I did for them to see and work from.
